Worked out on real-world use of 2,000 km per month, with electricity and fuel put side by side in hard numbers.
Say you drive 2,000 kilometres a month. That is about average for someone working in Bangkok who commutes by car every day and takes one trip out of town each month.
A petrol car of a similar size returns around 14 km/litre. At THB 38 per litre, that works out to roughly THB 5,430 a month in fuel.
An EV such as the BYD Dolphin uses about 15 kWh per 100 km. Charging at home at THB 4.20 per unit, the same distance costs roughly THB 1,260 a month.
That is a gap of about THB 4,170 every month, and it does not yet count the oil changes and servicing that an EV barely needs.
